Motarsport seafront Sunday

Join this Seafront Sunday with a difference. On Sundays throughout the summer St Peter Port seafront is closed to traffic and transforms into a sea of market stalls and al fresco dining.

This event is organised by the Guernsey Motor Cycle and Car Club and Guernsey Kart Club and includes a Twisty Sprint at North Beach car park, a stunt rider and much more.

Take advantage of the al fresco dining and watch the world go by.

FREE entry - open 10am until 4pm

ABOUT

These events have become a major part of Guernsey summers and bring a real carnival atmosphere to the Cobo seafront, whilst raising much needed funds for local charities such as the Guernsey Cheshire Home. Due to the popularity of our balcony gigs, a section of the Cobo Coast Road at the front of the hotel is temporarily closed off. If you are a resident and would prefer a more peaceful afternoon then we will be more than happy to arrange any trips or excursions you may wish to enjoy.

No pay. Bring your own food and drinks, all welcome, children, adults, pets.

ABOUT

A large fairground runs alongside a traditional country show at Old L’Eree Aerodrome where this large show had to move after it outgrew its former grounds. The show began in 1913 as a agricultural and horticultural showground for the parishes of St Saviour, St Pierre du Bois and Torteval. Notes from the show minutes in 1921 reveal George V and Queen Mary made an appearance and a decision to allow English to be spoken rather than traditional ‪Guernésiais‬.

Starting with the horse categories, the mid-week show includes fur and feather, animal, crafts, fruit and vegetable categories and many more. Entertainment comes in as many forms with live music, a beer tent, the funfair and arena events including tractor drives, lawnmower competitions and traditional Guernsey dancing.
